COMA Centre for Opinions in Music and Art displays Gabriel Loebell

COMA Centre for Opinions in Music and Art was founded by Kolja Gläser and Thomas Hug in June 2006. It works as a commercial gallery and as a space for artists whose work is multimedia and interdisciplinary oriented. One focus is to bring together visual and acoustical forms of expression, thus of fine art and music. Therefore concerts take place in COMA exhibitions which bring in a professional music audience and mix different specialized art communities. COMA tries out new and engaged ways of art dealing in an atmosphere which is more and more dominated by global players. Besides building a program with young experimental artist (Agnieszka Kurant, Malte Lochstedt, Mika Tajima) we did a number of group shows with artists we do not represent but who’s work we find interesting for discussion. Rather than an agency which sells art and artists (labels) COMA work as a pool of ideas and displays.

Currently on display: Gabriel Loebell (Berlin Biennale 2008)

Performance “monkeycage” from 3rd April at 11 am to 6th of April at 5 pm
“Gabriel Loebell shows continually over four days and nights a human, all too human monkey in his cage: his loneliness, monotony, apathy, animal routine, indifference and boredom”
